Winter warming recipes
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large pan, over a low heat. When hot enough, add 1 finely chopped onion, 1 finely chopped carrot, 1 finely chopped celery stick and 3 large cloves of crushed garlic. Cook for 5 minutes until softened.
- Once your vegetable mix is ready, add 500g of 5% mince to your pan and fry on a medium heat until golden. Stir in 3 tablespoons of tomato purée, 800g of chopped tomatoes and 300ml of beef stock. Then, add 1 tablespoon of dried mixed herbs, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce and simmer for 15 mins. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- When your mince mixture is ready, snap 9 lasagne sheets into pieces, add to your pan and cook for 10-12 minutes until the lasagne sheets are al dente. You might need to add a splash more water to loosen the sauce/help cook the pasta.
- When the pasta is cooked, stir in 100ml of double cream, 30g of Parmesan cheese, 75g of grated mozzarella and fresh chopped basil leaves.
- Serve and enjoy!
