Preparation and Usage

Cooking Instructions: Remove all packaging, discarding absorbent pad. Allow the joint to rest at room temperature for 30 minutes before roasting. Drizzle with a little oil and season with salt and pepper. Sear the joint all over on a dry, hot frying pan.Oven: 45 minutes (rare), 1 hour (medium) or 1 hour 15 minutes (well done). Pre-heat oven to 180°C/fan 160°C/gas 4. Place the joint in a roasting tray, season and add 125ml of cold water. Cover the tray with foil and place in the centre of the pre-heated oven for time given above. Remove foil from tray for the last 20 minutes of the cooking time. Allow the beef to rest in a warm place for 15-20 minutes and remove any strings prior to carving.Caution: Always wash hands, surfaces and utensils thoroughly after contact with raw meat.Important: All appliances vary, these are guidelines only. Tesco recommends that meat products are cooked thoroughly. If cooked rare there is small risk that harmful bacteria may be present. Not suitable for cooking from frozen.

Oven

Instructions: Temperature: 180, 160, 4Time: 1 hour 15 minsOven: 45 minutes (rare), 1 Hour (medium) or 1 hour 15 minutes (well done). Pre-heat oven to 180 °C/Fan 160 °C/Gas 4. Microwave

Instructions: Not suitable for microwave cooking.

Storage

Suitable for freezing. Ideally freeze as soon as possible after purchase but always by 'use by' date shown. Not suitable for cooking from frozen. Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 24 hours in the fridge. Once defrosted use within 24 hours and do not refreeze. Follow the preparation guidelines above. Keep refrigerated. Once opened, consume within 1 day and by ‘use by’ date shown.
