Preparation and Usage
Get Baking!Preparation- Preheat the oven to 160°C Fan/Gas mark 4/180°C approximately 10 minutes before your bake is ready to go in the oven.- Line three baking trays with baking paper. (if you only have one or two you will need to chill the remaining biscuits until your tray becomes available)To Make the Biscuit Dough:1 Make one biscuit dough first by adding one sachet of baking mix, 60g soft butter or margarine, and an egg to a bowl, mix the ingredients with a wooden spoon until you have a smooth dough.2 Wrap the dough in cling film and chill for 10 minutes. Chilling the dough makes it easier to handle. Using the same bowl repeat (step 1) and make up the second sachet of biscuit dough.3 Cut out the star stencils from the box. (check out cutting instructions, see step 5)4 Roll out each dough on a floured surface until it's about 1/2 cm thick.5 Use a sharp knife to cut out two stars of each size using the star stencil, then place them on the lined baking tray. You should have a total of 16 biscuits.6 Bake the biscuits in the middle of the oven for 10-12 minutes or until they're golden. You can do this in batches; chill the biscuits in the fridge that are not currently baking.7 Leave the biscuits to cool completely on a cooling rack.To Assemble the Tree:- Begin with the largest star and gradually build up in size, rotating the stars to ensure the star points are visible and to create a full and well-filled-out tree appearance.- First, create a border along the edge and points of the star with the green icing on the bottom biscuit. Then, place the second biscuit on top. Proceed to decorate the star points with green icing, sprinkles, and soft pearls until you are left with the two smallest biscuits.- With the two smallest biscuits stick together with the green icing to create the star for the top of the tree.- Completely cover both sides of the joined star with green icing first, then dip it in the 100s and 1000s sprinkles. Use the green icing to attach the star vertically to the top of the tree and allow it to set.You Will Need:- 120g soft butter or margarine (2 x 60g to make 2 lots of biscuit dough)- 2 Medium eggs- Flour for dusting- Mixing bowl- 3 Baking trays
