Preparation and Usage

  • Dosage 4.6kg Laundry Soiling Water hardness Light / Normal /Heavy Soft: 50ml/70ml/120ml Medium: 50ml / 97ml / 145ml Hard: 75ml / 125ml / 170ml *The standard number of washes (40) is based on the dosage for normal soiling in medium water hardness and average content. For 7+kg loads use 35 ml extra. 97ml = 65g. Handwashing - Dissolve 20 ml in 6 L of water.
  • Sort the clothes according to the garment labels or fabric type. Pour the powder into your main wash dispenser drawer and select the appropriate programme. Always use a dosing scoop to measure out the powder required. For a free dosing scoop call 004408000211952 Save Money: Select the right machine program for the wash each time. Wherever possible, line dry instead of using a tumble drier. To avoid smelly washing, look after your machine by running a maintenance wash at 60°C to 90°C wash cycle, with no clothes, but with powder added, every 6-8 weeks or as necessary. For a freshening wash, turn the dial down to 30°C. Save Time: Using a fabric conditioner makes ironing easier and faster. Safe for use with septic tanks. Stain Removal Tips For best results, treat stains quickly. Grease or creams: pre-treat with a stain remover then wash at the hottest temperature permitted on the garment care label. Red sauce: Pre-treat with a stain remover product then wash as normal. Grass and mud: scrape off any excess mud, pre-treat with a stain remover then wash as normal. Ink: Pre-treat with a stain remover product then wash as normal. Blood: soak the stain for 10 minutes before washing. Coffee, tea and red wine: rinse the stain under cold water, pre-treat with a laundry stain remover, then wash as normal.
  • Not suitable for use on wool and silk articles. If in doubt about colour fastness of a garment, wash separately in cool water. Flame resistant finishes should not be soaked or washed at temperatures above 50°C. Please note powders tend to settle after packing.

I never thought I would go back to simple old fashioned washing powder, but it seems the Tesco Bio tablets I used to buy are no longer made so as this was the only Tesco Bio powder on the day I thought I'd try it. It's so much better than the more expensive big name bio liquid I'd been using and so much cheaper. Real value for money. It's now my washing powder of choice.

Brilliant stain removal at low temperatures

Effective cleaning and really good stain removal especially at lower temperatures. For badly soiled items I do a 20 degree short wash before the main wash and it works amazingly well. We also have sensitive skins but have never had any problems in all the years I have been using it. Great price too, half the price of leading brands. Well done Tesco!

Why is it always out of stock? Why was Ariel colour same large size discontinued? Really annoying. Can’t get in store or inline. Hate liquid capsules. Overpriced

We use this regularly. We wear mostly dark colours in our household and have no issues with fading. This detergent works as well as any of the branded products that we've tried.

Incorrect to say it contains bleach.

Never used it, just here to comment that the people saying it contains bleach are misunderstanding the ingredients - it contains oxygen-based bleaching agents, which are the same as in vanish products for example, not 'bleach' which is chlorine based.

Why does it contains bleach?

I decided to change to another brand of powder for coloured clothes, although I used to use this all the time. But then I noticed some fading on black jeans and denim skirt. I looked at the ingredients and was surprised to see it contained bleach. Is this necessary? Shame because I would stay with this if the bleach was removed. Smells nice and is good value.

Always use coloured washing powder for my colours. Find powder doesn't make my machine smell unlike liquids. Find this one washes as well as more expensive brands. I would rather save on the powder & spend more on a nice fabric conditioner!

Not good for colours because it contains bleach but OK for whites - seems to get them clean enough. But what I really don't like about it is the smell. It leaves the washing and the machine smelling really stale. Maybe that's just me as others seem to like it.
