Our exclusively sourced, highest grade grain is grown in the shadow of the magnificent Himalayan mountain range in the north of India.
A wonderfully silky, long, plump creamy coloured grain. This is simply the best Basmati you'll cook, eat and enjoy!

This is quite simply the best rice you can buy. Plump and perfect for a pilau or biryani, subtly scented with spice or just plainly steamed. No salt. No stirring. No messing. Just naturally sweet, proper rice...

Our rice is 100% Aged Basmati through and through. AAA-grade. It's so much better that way. Aging increases the flavour, increases the sweetness and firms up the grain.

To me, newly harvested rice has no real flavour, falls apart when cooked and quite simply doesn't deliver the flavour impact it should.

Recipes

Arun's Perfect Rice:
Feeds 6 people
Ingredients:
2 teacups of uncooked rice
5 teacups of cold water
Good handful of fresh coriander and/or chives, finely chopped (optional)
Sea salt to taste (optional)

Method:
1. Tip the rice into a thick bottomed saucepan.
2. Then, pour in the cold water, give it a quick but gentle stir, place on the hob and bring to a boil.
3. As soon as the water starts to bubble, turn down the heat to a gentle simmer and half cover the pan with a lid.
4. When most of the water has 'gone', after about 12-15 minutes, lift the pan swirl it gently, if there is about 1 tablespoon of water remaining, remove the pan from the heat, pop the lid on and set aside.
5. After 3 or 4 minutes, take of the lid, sprinkle with the coriander and chives, a sprinkle of sea salt, fluff gently with a fork and serve immediately.

Top Tips:
1. About 80g of raw/uncooked rice is good for one person.
2. There's no need to rinse this aged rice.
3. To cook perfect rice remember three simple rules:
(i) Never stir your rice during cooking.
(ii) Don't add salt until it's finished.
(iii) I would suggest you never fill your cooking pot more than 5cm high with un-cooked kernals.
4. You can put a couple of lightly crushed whole Green Saffron green cardamom pods and 2 or 3 cloves in the boiling water for a little added aromatic flavour.

Serving suggestion:
The perfect accompaniment to any dish made from our Green Saffron spice blends or sauces, or eat on its own or with your favourite meals.
