Preparation and Usage

How to Cook the Perfect SteakChef's TipsYou will need: A grill pan, a pair of tongs and a baking tray.Preparation is keyBring your steaks to room temperature by taking them out of the fridge 30 minutes before cooking. Use a paper towel to pat your steaks dry before searing.Add the cooking fat square to the pan and heat for around 5 minutes to ensure it is piping hot.Tips for cooking the perfect steakSearing: Make sure you allow the steaks to build up a nice seared crust on a high heat before flipping, and don't forget to sear the edges!Checking: If you have a temperature probe, follow the internal temperatures below to cook the steak to your preference. Medium-Rare: 55°C-60°C /Medium: 60°C-65°C /Medium-Well: 65°C-70°CPlating up like a pro for the restaurant experienceResting: Before plating your steaks, ensure they are well-rested for at least 10 minutes and ideally on a warm plate or baking tray. Avoid resting on the pan as this may overcook the steak.Carving: Identify the direction of the grain, which are the parallel fibres running through the meat, and cut against the grain into slices with a thickness of your liking.Plating: We would recommend serving your steaks on warm plates. Hob

Instructions: Hob 2-3 mins. To heat the sauce, empty contents into a small saucepan and heat gently for 2-3 minutes. Do not allow to boil. Pour sauce over the steaks and serve.

Shallow Fry

Instructions: Remove all packaging and place sauce sachet to one side. Allow steaks to rest for 30 minutes at room temperature before cooking. Add the cooking fat square to a heavy based pan over a high heat for 2-5 minutes until melted and piping hot. Place steaks in the pan and cook over a high heat. PAN FRY 1 min each side. Reduce heat to medium and continue to cook for a further: 1 min each side (rare) 3 mins each side (medium) 5 mins each side (well done) Remove from the pan. Allow steaks to rest in a warm place for 10 minutes before serving.

Storage

Suitable for freezing. Ideally freeze as soon as possible after purchase but always by 'use by' date shown. Once defrosted, do not refreeze. Follow the preparation guidelines above. Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 24 hours in the fridge. Keep refrigerated. Once opened, consume within 1 day and by ‘use by’ date shown.
