Preparation and Usage

How to make the perfect roast chickenPlease ensure all packaging is removed before cooking1. Remove chicken from bag.2. Rub softened butter over the skin, then season generously with sea salt and cracked black pepper.3. Pierce a lemon and place in the chicken cavity alongside a small bunch of mixed herbs.4. Place the chicken in a deep roasting tray and cook according to the pack instructions.5. Baste halfway through cooking.6. Once cooked remove from oven and rest for 5-10 minutes before carving.7. Use the flavoursome juices from the chicken to make the perfect gravy.

Oven

Instructions: Temperature: 200°C, Fan 180°C, Gas 6Time: 45 mins per kg + 20 minsOVEN 200ºC / Fan 180ºC / Gas 6. Chilled: 45 mins per kg + 20 mins. Place chicken in a roasting tin. Cook in the centre of a pre-heated oven for calculated time basting occasionally during cooking. Allow to stand for 5-10 minutes before carving.

Storage

Suitable for freezing. Ideally freeze as soon as possible after purchase but always by 'use by' date shown. Once defrosted use within 24 hours and do not refreeze. Follow the preparation guidelines above. Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 24 hours in the fridge. Keep refrigerated below 4°C.
