Description

Persimmon.Firm and sweet with a hint of vanilla, can be eaten whole. Harvested when orange in colour, persimmons typically come in two forms. The first is a large, acorn shaped fruit typically grown in sunny Spain and eaten in bite size chunks when firm. The second, known as "Sharon fruit" originated in the Sharon Valley of Israel but are now widely grown in many countries around the world, and best enjoyed eaten with a spoon when slightly soft. Brown speckles are a sign of maturity and natural sugar concentration. The green / yellow fruit is most common at the start of the season. It is usually ripe and ready; however, leave at room temperature for a few days to soften to your preference.
