Using the site
How we support accessible browsing
To make our website easy to use for everyone, we have done the following:
• We use colours that contrast well for readability.
• We do not rely on just colour to give information.
• We use a clear and consistent page layout.
• We make the website text as simple as possible to understand.
Tips for using our website even more easily
Browser zoom to enlarge the page
On a PC:
• Hold down the 'Ctrl' key and press '+' to zoom in.
• Hold down the 'Ctrl' key and press '-' to zoom out.
• To reset, hold down 'Ctrl' and press '0'.
On an Apple Macintosh computer, hold the 'Cmd' (Apple) key instead of 'Ctrl'.

Measures to support accessibility
We take the following steps to make Tesco.ie accessible:
• We use both automated and manual checks to detect accessibility issues during the design and development process.
• Our website gets regularly audited by third-party accessibility specialists against WCAG 2.2 level AA.
• We include people with disabilities in our user testing.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) sets out requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. There are three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Tesco is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Assessment approach
Tesco Ireland Limited has assessed the accessibility of Tesco.ie in the following ways:
• External evaluation: This website was last tested in June 2025 against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard. This test of a representative sample of pages was carried out by the Digital Accessibility Centre (DAC).
• Self-assessment.
Non-accessible content
Despite our best efforts to ensure the accessibility of the Tesco.ie website, we are aware of some accessibility issues. Below is a description of known issues:
• The carousels on the special offers page may not operate optimally at very small screen sizes/high zoom levels.
• Some text in promotional banners may not meet minimum colour contrast requirements.
• Keyboard navigation order in the main menu may not be as expected.
• On the ‘special offers’ page, the breadcrumb home link does not have a visible keyboard focus state.
• Keyboard navigation order may be incorrect when revealing extra product reviews.
• When booking a delivery slot, navigating through all available slots with a keyboard takes a long time.
• The purpose of some links may not be clear without the surrounding page context.
• The main navigation menu is incorrectly announced as a modal by screen readers.
• Some promotional banners may be missing a descriptive text alternative for assistive technology.
• Some page content may live outside of landmarks.
• Some decorative images may be announced with an empty name by screen readers.
• Some icon-only links are missing a descriptive text alternative.
• Some headings are assigned an incorrect heading level, so the structure of some pages may not be clear to a screen reader user.
