Vinification Details

Fermentation happens in stainless steel tanks under 28ºC, with pumping over. Post fermentation maceration then takes place.

History

Grandes Vinos y Viñedos is a leading Spanish winery uniting local cooperatives of Cariñena, Aragón since 1997. We aim to blend modern winemaking with deep-rooted viticultural tradition, using native grapes such as Garnacha, Tempranillo and Cariñena. Through innovation, quality, and social responsibility, GVV helps maintain the vitality of small communities, working with almost 700 winegrowers and managing over 4,000 hectares of vineyards.

Regional Information

Cariñena is one of the most historic and distinguished wine-producing regions in Spain; it has a winemaking tradition that dates back to Roman times. The region sits at 400-800 metres above sea level; with hot summers, cold winters and low annual rainfall. Combined with it's mineral-rich “cascajo” soils, Cariñena has an ideal grape growing environment. The region has developed a strong reputation for producing powerful, expressive wines that reflect the unique characteristics of its terroir.
