Preparation and Usage
Why not try these ideas with your paste.......Mixing some with 1 tin of black beans (drained) and a few chopped tomatoes, then layer up with tortilla chips and cheese, before baking, for delicious nachos....upping your veg and fibre game by replacing half the chicken in the Chicken fajitas method with 1 tin of black beans (drain and add to the pan in step 3)....Mixing ½ a jar of paste with 2 tbsp sour cream, 2 tbsp tomato passata and a few coriander leaves for a fantastic dip to serve with corn tortilla chips or slices of red pepper....Stirring 1 tbsp into any dark stew, curry or soup to take the flavour to the next level.For chicken fajitas for 41. Place a wide frying pan on a medium heat with a little olive oil. Add 400g sliced chicken and fry for 10 mins, or until golden. Spoon out onto a plate (you may have to do this in batches)2. Place the pan back on the heat with a little more oil, and add 1 sliced large red pepper and 1 sliced large red onion. Cover and cook for 2 mins, or until slightly softened. Then remove the lid and fry until light golden and smelling delicious.3. Stir in 1 jar of Jamie Oliver Smoky Fajita paste, then add a 400g tin of tomatoes and 200ml water, and bring to the boil.4. Return the chicken to the pan and simmer until everything is cooked through.5. Serve with brown rice, or fill rolled-up flour tortillas, sprinkle with cheese and bake in a hot oven until melty and bubbly.Lovely with guacamole, tomato salsa and a dollop of sour cream.
