Description

ShirazOur Beekeeper's Shiraz pays homage to the bees happily living in over 60 hives across the vineyards. Bees help pollinate the flowers on the vines as well as making delicious honey. A moreish, soft and fruit-driven drop with layers of spice and red berry fruit, underpinned with a hint of well-integrated oak.
South African wine has a history dating back to 1659, over 365 years. The Gabb Family have been in the wine industry since 1980, and started producing South African wine in 1994, after seeing it's potential due to the climate and ancient soils. Every bottle they produce supports the nearby community in Sir Lowry’s Pass Village, whilst also respecting the environment through solar and water management initiatives, and local wildlife/native plants through land set aside on the farm for conservation.
Bringing beautiful, hand-picked wines from the sunny Western Cape in South Africa, to you.Sustainably produced by The Gabb Family

Vinification Details

Grapes are machine harvested early in the mornings, all bunches are carefully selected and sorted before the whole berries are transferred into stainless steel tanks for fermentation. After a 3-day cold soak the tanks are inoculated with a specific yeast to start the fermentation. During fermentation 2 pump overs per day are conducted to extract enough fruit, colour and tannins. After a 14-day fermentation the tanks are pressed, only post malolactic fermentation the components are blended and bottled.
