Preparation and Usage

Preparation: To enjoy your steak at its best, take out of the fridge and remove packaging 10 minutes before cooking. For best results we recommend pan frying. Rub or brush each side of the steak with frying oil and season with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Tip. Lower a corner of the steak into the pan. If it sizzles the pan is ready.

Suitable for freezing. Ideally freeze as soon as possible after purchase but always by 'use by' date shown. Not suitable for cooking from frozen. Follow the preparation guidelines above. Once defrosted use within 24 hours and do not refreeze. Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 12 hours in the fridge. Keep refrigerated. Once opened, consume within 1 day and by ‘use by’ date shown.

Microwave

Instructions: Not suitable for microwave cooking.

Grill

Instructions: Grill, Medium/High, 12-25 mins. Place steak on a tray in a pre-heated medium/high grill for 12-14 minutes (rare), 14-16 minutes (medium), 22-25 minutes (well done) turning halfway through cooking. Remove from grill and allow to rest for 3-5 minutes before serving. These instructions are given as guidelines only as steak thickness will vary slightly.

Shallow Fry

Instructions: Pan Fry, High/Medium, Time: 4-10 mins Pre-heat a heavy based pan on a high heat until it is smoking hot and fry the steak for 1 minute on each side to seal in the juices. Reduce to a medium heat and cook for a further 2-4 minutes(rare), 4-6 minutes(medium), 6-8 minutes(well done) turning halfway through cooking. Remove from pan and allow to rest for 3-5 minutes before serving. Pour the cooking juices over the steak and serve immediately. These instructions are given as guidelines only as steak thickness will vary slightly.
