Regional Information

Grape harvested in the Mendavia surrounding in plots located at an altitude between 300 and 600 meters. The vineyards have the perfect balance to allow harvesting the grapes at its best ripening stage.

Vinification Details

De-stemmed and partially crushed, with a high proportion of full berries. 10 - 15 days maceration period with a daily over-pumping. Controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 24 - 28º C. Selected yeast to obtain the maximum potential out of the grapes.

History

The winery was built in 2003 with the intention of creating, in a unique environment between the vineyards and the mountains, exceptional wines under the Marqués del Atrio label from DOCa Rioja. State-of-the-art facilities with the most advanced technology combine to produce the highest quality wines. Currently run by 5th generation of the family.
