Vinification Details

The grapes are havested mechanically at the beginning of September and some during August. Harvests are early in the morning and depend on the temperature of the season. Crushed, and put into stainless steel vats. Temperature is controlled during fermentation. Skin is removed early in order to get a pale colour for rose. Filtration is then done after fermentation is complete.

History

Castel Frères was created in 1949 by Pierre Castel and his brothers and sisters. Castel Frères is today the third largest producer in the world market for French wines.

Regional Information

Provence has been the home for dry rosé for decades. The wine comes from our winery based in Provence and our local suppliers. The weather is very hot during the summer. Little wind and very dry weather means the harvest often has to be early in the season.
