Don't sell "fresh" ginger in plastic packs!
Review from Tesco
This is better than having no ginger at all, but, as other reviews make clear, Tesco should not be selling small pieces of ginger in a plastic bag, at half-as-much cost again as the loose product. The pieces inevitably go mouldy before they even reach the customer. Food waste, unnecessary plastic, ruins a perfectly good product which keeps very well in cool, dry airy conditions.
NOT and alternative to fresh ginger

very poor quality stems rotten at the ends cut 80% off then had to shop again for more fresh ginger. Why put it in a plastic wrapper that does not breath and cut it in to small pieces, so it has more surface area exposed to the air?

Review from Tesco
I buy Ginger every week. The past several weeks the Ginger has been bad quality/even rotten and unusable for my stir fry. So reluctantly have reverted to buying the frozen Ginger, which is more expensive but is reliable.

Review from Tesco
I have really tried with this product but I have thrown more away than I have eaten. Last 2 packs were mouldy on receipt. Will not be buying any more. If Tesco does not start selling fresh ginger online I may move my complete shop to Morrisons.
Rubbish! Avoid at all costs.
Review from Tesco
Ended up with this prepacked junk as a substitution item for the loose. There is no way that anyone shopping instore would have picked this up, as it consists of very small pieces sliced about 1cm thick, so the cut surfaces are dry and mouldy, making it largely unusable, and very difficult to trim the rot off. If I end up with as much as 25% of it usable (although still dried out!) I will be very surprised.

This is impossible to see until its removed from packaging and the last 5. orders have had me complaining no date on packet and its rotten keep hoping I'll get a decent piece don't find Morrisons in this condition, like my big shop from Tesco but I'm having to get doorstep deliveries from Morrisons to get a decent piece of ginger but that costs £2.50.Was able to buy loose before but stopped this when the amount I was ordering was being weighed wrong ,will have one more go at ordering then make an official complaint to food agency
Rubbish

Ginger root ruined by cutting into small pieces. The ends very soon go mouldy so much waste then too small to peel. The small pieces also dry out quickly A very stupid way of selling ginger
