Regional Information

Chianti is one of the best known Italian regions producing distinctive red wines with fresh cherry fruit flavours and smooth tannins. The landscape and climate are characteristic of Tuscany with rolling hills with warm sunshine tempered by incoming sea breezes.

Vinification Details

The grapes are crushed and destemmed and then fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. The wine spends 9 months in barriques and oak barrels before release.

History

Piccini was founded back in 1882 by Angiolio Piccini who started with just 7 hectares. Piccini now has four separate estates in its portfolio and ranks as one of the most recognisable Tuscan brands worldwide with fourth generation Mario and Martina Piccini at the helm.
