I love 1010 - be aware the lightening is PERMANENT
Review from L'OREAL
I've been using this hair colour for maybe 10 years and realised I need to post a review. To clarify: L'Oreal Casting 1010 PERMANENTLY lightens hair. If you closely at the packet for nearly all the other colours of Casting, you'll see that underneath the large pink box, it says 'Lasts up to 28 shampoos'. On the 1010 packet, it doesn't say this and it says on the side of the box that it 'lightens hair'. So what happens with 1010 is that it lifts your natural colour (bleaches it) by several shades, and adds blonde tones all over. What is permanent is the lightening, what is semi-permanent is the added colour. What will happens it that the initial colour will fade and you'll be left with lightened roots that will need retouching. Which is easy - you just buy 1010 again and follow the instructions for previously coloured hair. Having used this product so many times, I'm a big fan but it should be made clearer that the lightening effect is permanent. Hope that helps anyone trying to decide which colour to buy!
Loved coconut conditioner

Do not like honey conditioner, much prefer coconut one
Nice colour after a few washes
Review from L'OREAL
Have just used this colour for the first time on light ginger hair... Its nice after a few washes but to start with it goes much darker than the box. I would suggest maybe leaving it on for half the suggested time perhaps?
713 to cover vegetable dye faded ginger
Review from L'OREAL
I was looking for an ashy light colour and went for 713 after looking at the darker colours. Glad I did as this came out very much darker than shown on the box Which I thought might happen as I have alot of ginger for the ash tone to cling too It has a golden hue It has slightly lightened my roots which I dont mind I only left it on for about 12-15 minutes It stains anything it touches including the bath . Im sure it'll bleach out It's covered greys well and covered alot of the herbal dye ginger residue I hope it fades nicely and the ash tone stays I'll use it again if it doesn't completely wash out . I think it'll be a very different colour on natural blonde hair as I have a white streak and thats more of a dark ash blonde now The rest of my hair is quite dark but its done what I needed and my hair looks more blended now I didn't use the conditioner as my hair is low porosity and its better to stick to conditioners I know it likes and I know wont make it coated and waterproof. I added argan oil and left my conditioner on for about 5 minutes and rinsed out then added a leave in conditioner spray a leave in blowdry cream and some more oil . I air dried and then sprayed and styled a little with a low heat blowdry brush My hair feels moisturised after doing this I'll wash it in a couple of days
New formula?
Review from L'OREAL
What has happened to this product, LÒreal? I have been using it for ten years and my last application of Medium Brown 500 left stubborn stains, on my hand and on my hairline. This never happened before. Two days since the colouring I can't lift my fringe or lift my hair because the stains are there. I hope that this is not a permanent thing because it isn't a good look.

Dreadful
Review from L'OREAL
Have never left a bad review before but honestly this product deserves one. Do not buy this product. Normally I use the lighter shade, but I decided to give this one a try for a bit of a red boost. What a mistake. My hair is naturally a golden red blonde and the lighter shade looks lovely, but this one has turned my hair brown. I look like a vampire and there is absolutely no red whatsoever. I am incredibly disappointed and will now spend the next few days attempting to remove this horror story. Honestly doesn't even deserve one star it is that bad.

Made my hair a completely different colour to box
Review from L'OREAL
I bought the colour amber and used it on my dark ginger hair with light highlights. it dyed my hair dark brown and completely erased the highlights. Totally different colour from what was on the box. Still has a lovely smell and great coverage but really disappointed with the colour.
