Well worth trying
Review from Tesco
I had not sampled Carmenere before but was impressed by other reviews so I bought a case. I am glad I did because it is excellent and it is great to find a different wine to drink rather than sticking to familiar favourites.
Good choice
Review from Tesco
I like Carmenere and this did not disappoint. I would certainly buy this again as it is fruity but restrained and the expected flavours came through.
Reserva ?
Review from Tesco
A good example of wine from this grape variety. But frustrating that the word " Reserva" on the label is not explained. Presumably it means that the wine spends longer in oak barrels than the regular Carmenere wines from Chile.
My new favourite wine
Review from Tesco
Full bodies and smooth, this has taken over as my favourite wine.
Old European Classic
Review from Tesco
Carmenere as with Zinfandel suffered disease in Europe but both thrive in South and North America respectively. These 'old' varieties produce full, long and powerful wines normally around 14.5. I was introduced to both of these wines in California in 1982 and never looked back. Most reviews for these state they are 'eating' wines; but I enjoy both, sipping slowly and enjoying. You don't have to pay a fortune but avoid the very cheap lines which can be very disappointing.
My favourite wine

This wine is a full bodied wine with distinctive flavours
Great Winery - lovely wine!
Review from Tesco
Lovely Carmenere one of my favourite wines from one of my favourite wineries , what more can you say ! Let it breathe and develop spicy chocolate and blackberry tones , mmmmm!!
Another good example of the grape.
Review from Tesco
This for some reason has been difficult to find in store recently, demand perhaps. If so it is well deserved fruity quite deep in taste and colourand well worth seeking out , Chiles home grape is a worth while change and doesn't disappoint. The bottles I purchased were gold medal winners, could have been an earlier vintage ?
Another great wine from Casillero del Diablo
Review from Tesco
Loved this wine. It is quite fruity, but full bodied with a round, balanced flavour. I usually buy the casillero del Diablo Cabernet sauvignon, but this was a nice change and I enjoyed it as much.
A favourite wine
Review from Tesco
Thank the good Lord that Chile saved Carmenere for wine drinkers. This is in the true Carmenere mould: herby. flavoursome and mellow.
