Cono Sur Bicicleta Chardonnay

This is delicious. We found it best if it is chilled and it improves if you leave some for drinking the day or two after initial opening. My wife found that this did not give her a headache the next day as wines often seem to do (she only ever drinks a small glass) and we think that this is due to it not being aged in oak. Can be drunk on its own or is a good accompaniment to melon or fish.

fresh and crisper than I expected

I rarely if ever choose a Chardonnay! Do I like this one? Yes it’s OK, very fresh and crisper than I thought it was going to be. The new stryle of Chardy then. Sure enough there are those sweeter, exotic fruit notes poking through but in no way cloying. But well chilled I quite like it as an aperitif for when I’m doing my Keith Floyd thing, slurping and cooking. It’s a good colour in the glass, pale yellow-green, delivering plenty of flavour and follow through. Given you like this grape in a more racy guise and could acquire it with a special offer attaching, then it could do well as a ‘must always have some handy’. Unless of course your love of Chardonnay is for something more in the way of a bold and exotic fruit salad! I'd have prefered to give it half a star more that 3 and then if it was £2 cheaper the other half to bring it to 4!
Cono Sur Chardonnay

Very pleasant reasonably priced wine, the best of the Cono Sur range. Unfortunately it is never available in store except in Ireland where it is widely available
