A wine with dark red fruit aromas of black cherry, plum. On the palate, notes of fresh blueberries are complemented by hints of brown spice & baking chocolate. Finishing with soft acidity & fruit-driven balance gives the wine a sense of elegance

Vinification Details

The grapes used in our 2017 Merlot remained on their skins for 10-14 days to extract their full color and flavor intensity. Each lot was then gently pressing into its own tank for malolactic fermentation. After carefully assessing the quality of the separate wines, the best lots are judiciously blended to maintain their classic Merlot profile and then aged on French and American oak before final blending

Regional Information

The 2017 growing season saw record rainfall that rejuvenated soils & quick-started an early bud break. The early wet weather was balanced by hot temperatures in the late summer, which kept berry size small and fruit character concentrated. The perfectly timed heat spikes in late summer allowed our Merlot grapes ample time on the vines to ripen fully. Harvest ran smoothly throughout August and September, and the resulting yields offer highly concentrated, layered fruit character and firm acidity
