Tesco Soup And Broth Mix 500G

Makes a great addition to casseroles and stews

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Soaking Time: 8-12 hours or overnight
Cooking Time: 2 hours 5 minutes
80g Tesco Soup and Broth Mix
8 pork sausages
2 celery sticks, finely sliced
4 medium carrots, peeled and diced
2 medium red onions, peeled and chopped
300g closed cup mushroom, sliced
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 x 400g can chopped tomatoes
40g vegetable gravy granules
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 tbsp ground paprika
2 tbsp tomato puree
1ltr water, boiling
1. Soak the soup and broth mix to the on pack instructions, but do not cook,
then drain and rinse thoroughly.
2. Preheat the oven to 200°C, (fan 180°C), Gas Mark 6.
3. Dry fry the sausages in a medium frying pan, over a low heat for 5 minutes,
until they are brown on the outside.
4. Transfer the sausages to a large lidded casserole dish, then add the celery,
carrots, red onion, mushrooms, garlic and chopped tomatoes.
5. Stir the gravy granules, oregano, paprika, tomato puree and boiling water
together and add to the casserole dish.
6. Cover with a lid and cook in the centre of the preheated oven for 1 hour and
30 minutes. Stir well and return to the oven without the lid and cook for a
further 30 minutes.
Serve with your favourite steamed seasonal vegetables.

Store in a cool dry place
Once opened, reseal using the tab provided.
Cooking Method: Hob
Time: 50 minutes
Soak 100g soup & broth mix in 5ooml cold water for 8-12 hours or overnight.
Drain and rinse thoroughly.
Place the soaked soup & broth mix into a large saucepan with 500ml of water.
Place the pan on the medium hob ring over a high heat. Bring to the boil and
boil for 10 minutes.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 40 minutes, until the soup and broth mix
has softened but is slightly firm to the bite.
Drain thoroughly, rinse and use as required.
