 Leo Dunne has been supplying Irish carrots to Tesco through Country Crest since 1997. A winner of the "Grower of the Year" award and the Laois "People of the Year" Award, Leo grows carrots, organic carrots and swedes in the rich sandy soil of the Nore Valley which produces the best quality carrots on the market today. Working with his wife, Bernadette and son Emmett they employ 28 people to ensure quick delivery of carrots from field to shelf.
Leo got his first love for the farm as a child when he was weeding, thinning and canning carrots on his fathers farm. The farm he works was his grandfathers before him so there is a rich history of farming in the Dunne clan.
