Tesco to introduce € for £ Price Parity on Clothing Products

Tesco Ireland today announced that it is introducing € for £ price parity on all clothing products. From Monday next customers will pay the sterling price in euro on all Tesco’s 7,500 clothing lines.

The announcement is part of a €20 million investment and will mean that all clothes and fashion items will now be 7% cheaper than in the UK or Northern Ireland. (at current exchange rate levels). For example, a shirt priced at £10 will now cost €10.

Commenting on the move Tesco Ireland’s newly appointed Commercial Director, Jacqueline O’Neill said:

“We are delighted to introduce € for £ parity on clothing in 75 stores across the country. I believe that this move will make Tesco the number one destination for quality fashion for all the family at the lowest prices.”

“Customers need not travel to Northern Ireland as they will now benefit at home from this long term initiative by Tesco,” she added.

Tesco Ireland has recently been expanding its fashion range which features a wide choice of clothing, footwear, jewellery and accessories for men, women, children and babies.

The range includes 5 proprietary brands: F&F, Cherokee, True, Stone Bay and Petite.

From Monday customers in stores will see price tags showing the original £ and € prices e.g £10 and €15 but will be charged €10 at tills. Following are some examples of the matched prices, which will be available in stores from Monday:
