Irish Tomatoes are harvested, packed and delivered daily from Irish growers for Tesco. Their freshness, combined with great flavour, makes them the best choice, every time. We will have fresh Irish tomatoes from a number of the country's best tomato growers this season and are sourcing tomatoes from Wexford up to North Dublin.

How did Tesco get Irish Tomatoes so early?

We plan closely with our growers, all of whom are Bord Bia approved, to get access to the first of the crop as soon as it becomes available. Because this year's fresh tomatoes were slightly earlier than last year, we made every effort to ensure they could be picked and packed straight for your local Tesco, so you could enjoy them as soon as possible.

Is this a good year for Irish Tomatoes?

Irish Tomatoes are grown in glasshouses where the most important criteria to get them as juicy as possible are sunlight and heat. April has been reasonably kind in this regard and we are keeping our fingers crossed for the rest of the summer too!

When does the Irish Tomato season run until?

Irish Tomatoes will continue to be available in stores until the middle of November.

How do the new season tomatoes taste?

The first variety available this season is the Tesco Finest Irish Piccolo Cherry Tomato. Highly flavoured and very sweet, it's perfect for summer salads!.
