Tesco Pet Insurance Policies
A choice of 2 levels of pet cover
Different people want different things from their pet insurance. That's why Tesco Pet Insurance offers two levels of pet cover so that you can choose the policy that's right for you, and your pocket!
Value cover
Value Cover provides insurance for each new medical condition up to €2,500. You can claim for a maximum of four new conditions per period of insurance. Each condition is covered, from the first presentation of clinical signs for 12 months, subject to your policy remaining in force and to you renewing it. If the financial limit is reached within the 12 month period, the pet cover will stop paying for that condition. Once the limit has been reached, the condition becomes pre-existing and is excluded from future claims.
Standard cover
If you need more from your policy, Standard Cover provides insurance for each new medical condition up to €4,000. There is no time limit on how long you can claim nor on the number of new conditions per period of insurance, subject to your policy remaining in force and to you renewing it. Once the maximum financial limit is reached, the condition becomes pre-existing and is excluded from future claims.

Please read the following important information relating to Tesco Pet Insurance:
- Your pet must be a minimum of 8 weeks old and a maximum of 8 years old when cover starts and Tesco Pet Insurance doesn't cover pre-existing medical conditions
- Tesco Pet Insurance does not cover certain breeds of dog. A full list of all exclusions is listed here.
- Vet fees for each eligible condition are covered for up to the amounts shown above – and for the Tesco Pet Insurance Value product, there is also a 12 month limit on treatment from the first date of each claim.
